La Casa De Papel - A Faultless Robbery

Güncelleme tarihi: 4 Oca 2019

"Berlin, Tokyo, Rio, Nairobi, Moscow, Denver, Helsinki and Oslo... More than a city..."

La Casa De Papel is a robbery story made in Spain written by Álex Pina, who did successful work in crime and drama genres.

If there's nothing stolen, is that still a robbery? How much time is needed to make a perfect robbery plan? A few days, a couple of weeks, maybe months... So, how long will it take for a robbery plan to be destroyed? Is love a good reason for everything to be destroyed? Here is the answer to all these questions and more in this series.

Whoever found this series for Netflix and acquired it from Antena 3 deserves an award. La casa de papel became the most watched non-English series on Netflix ever. There is such a lot to say about this series. First, it is necessary to recognize characters that use the city names.

As he is understood named, he is the most intelligent and mysterious character in the series. The brain of the robbery. He thinks the plan to the smallest detail and he has an intelligence that surprises everyone with the solutions he brings to the obstacles that arise during the robbery. He is a person who is defined as a ghost for government who does not even have a criminal record.
Professor
  • As he is understood named, he is the most intelligent and mysterious character in the series. The brain of the robbery. He thinks the plan to the smallest detail and he has an intelligence that surprises everyone with the solutions he brings to the obstacles that arise during the robbery. He is a person who is defined as a ghost for government who does not even have a criminal record.

Tokyo
  • She is attracting attention with haircut. She is one of the most fearless members of the team. She has no expectations from life, who does not think about own future, someone who has passed life with robberies since she was very young. She is the person who tells the story from the beginning to the end.

Berlin
  • My favorite character in the series. He is the internal leader of the robbery. There's a warrant for 27 arrests about him. A leader who thinks the best for his team and doesn't think of anything except the plan. Particularly, he is the performance in the final episode of the series is among the memorable.

Rio
  • An expert in hacking and coding. He's been writing codes since he was six. There's nothing he doesn't know about alarms or electronics. His name is in Interpol's wanted list. He is very young and inclined to make emotional decisions.

Moscow
  • Moscow is both Denver and the whole team's father so to speak. He has made many successful robberies with his vast knowledge of mining and excavation works. He's got a soft heart and nothing he can't do for his son. A name respected by the team.

Denver
  • Moscow's son. He has a bum and pure personality. Someone who can cause a fight at any moment he is not very smart. Maybe the most intimate member of the team. It's a time bomb for a faultless robbery. He won great sympathy with his laugh over.

Nairobi
  • She is the quality control controller of the team. She has a tough life. Although she had a difficult childhood, she still optimistic. She makes her livelihood by doing fraud and selling drugs. She is one of the most fun and cheerful members of the team.

Oslo

Helsinki
  • They symbolize the muscle strength of the team. Although cousins of Serbian origin are too ignorant, they are closing their cons with their physical strength. They fulfill every order.

In the first chapter, the team enters the mint with Dali masks and red overalls and the robbery begins. In each chapter, we learn what happens within the mint during the days and what kind of a plan the Professor thinks of every possibility in the preparation period of the robbery. When you say "I understood the plan" other things come to light. Every chapter is so intricately connected, so well written and cleverly edited that when a series like this comes along, it deserves to be applauded and praised.

The scenes that show the background of the characters, the perfect moments where we can enjoy the series. And we have to admit that we're watching aesthetically beautiful scenes. The use of color, the use of music and the cinematography are of high quality. The acting was perfectly. Not only the robbery team, all the actors very successful. Berlin and Nairobi are written in detail and original. Two favorite characters for me.

This series gives a lot of big messages. First of all, Dali masks are not an ordinary choice. Salvador Dali is a painter who inherited life that is contrary to popular morality and common customs. He has never accepted the imperatives from the society and the right to wrong moral codes. The Dali masks represent the rebellion against the system. The red overalls and Berlin's speeches represent socialism. The wearers are socialist comrades and fighting. The mint and cops represent capitalism. In capitalism money sets everything. Even morals will set money. So when someone attacks the money, those people are declared bad. When attacked by money, capitalism is waging a war against the attackers with its armed and visual mechanisms.

It is also possible to see the Professor's uprising against the capitalist system. He does not see his act as a robbery and reinforces his thesis by criticizing the European Central Bank's cash flow. The professor is symbolizing the scientific perspective and accounting. After all, scientific thinking and accountability overcome all kinds of problems. But he can't resist love. I have not seen such meaningful socialism for a long time. Moreover, Salvador Dali's tactic was used in the series. You think you are watching the events, but every time you have a deep meaning and message. One of the best references in this series was the Stockholm Syndrome. Due to the situation between Denver and one hostage, this syndrome was successfully processed.

Bella Ciao, the Italian partisans' anthem who fought against fascism during World War II, was a factor that made the series beautiful. The most critical scenes of the series have become even more impressive thanks to Bella Ciao. Bella Ciao is the symbol of socialism. It's not just a show or a script. It is a wonderful work as a philosophy. There is a big slap in the capitalist system.

It would not be wrong to say that La Casa De Papel gave what was expected from the story of a robbery in general, and that it was able to offer both an exciting and entertaining story with rational moves without forcing the rules of logic. There is nothing bad in the series except a few logic failures. It's nice also that the series is spanish. As you hear the Spanish accent, a smile will appear on your face. One-to-one for those who want to watch a cleverly planned robbery adventure.
